Dear family members, I knew your wife/mother for over 20 years in my role as a bank supervisor for the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta. She was a true professional and friend who did her best every day. The state of Louisiana is indebted to her for her many years of diligent work in maintaing a safe and sound banking environment for all of its residences. Sincerely, Marion Rivers

How blessed I was to meet Doris Gunn. The last time I saw her she and I both shed tears wondering if the experimental treatment was going to help her cancer battle. She was a strong leader and went to see her God with a strong human fight. I'm enriched because of who she was. God Bless her family. Mell Schexnaildre and OLOL Voice Center

As a state banking commissioner, I worked with Doris on a national level for many years; our friendship was invaluable. When I think of Doris I remember so many wonderful times we had together. We are blessed that she was a part of our lives. I am greatful I made the trip with other dear friends to visit Doris and her wonderful family last fall. She will be sorely missed.

Doris loved to fish, and she and I took a chartered fishing trip right after 9/11. We had a memorable weekend, and she will be sorely missed by this cajun fishing buddy.

Doris left her mark on all she met! I truly expected her to come dancing down the aisle of St. Patrick's, laughing at all the tears in our eyes. And no doubt, she is spreading joy and cheer in Heaven, just as she did in our lives. I was blessed to know her.
Thanks Be to God for his gift of Doris to us.

Doris will truly be missed. Working with her was a wonderful experience, and our "ladies night out" was always fun. She was quite a "lady."

To Caroline: I was so sorry to hear of the loss of your mother. Please know my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Mothers are gifts from God because not only do they provide leadership and guidance in our lives, but they serve as our best friends as well. Always know that you have many friends throughout the state who care about you. Please let me know if you need anything. I am just a telephone call away.

Our hearts are so sad to say good-bye. You may have lost the battle, but you've won the war. You're in heaven now. You were such an inspiration to us & it was an honor to be in battle by your side.

My great friend and one of Louisiana's "Leading Ladies." Doris made many contributions to the stability of the financial institutions of Louisiana and the Nation, too. Elizabeth and I liked her a lot.

You were deliberately planned, specifically gifted, and lovingly positioned on this earth. If God had a wallet, your photo would be in it. Rest, my friend, but do not forget us. Sprinkle the path with your compassion, light the tree tops with the sparkle in your eyes, whisper your words in the wind. You will live in our hearts forever. You are a divine work of art signed by God. Until we meet again. Hester
