Doris E. Purdy passed away at her home in Colorado Springs on February 21, 2023, with family by her side. Doris was born October 31, 1923, in Mississippi. She served during World War II in the United States Marine Corps from April 1944 to March 1946. She was discharged as a Corporal from the USMC. Doris married Edwin Purdy on February 1, 1946. She is survived by her sons, Karl and Keith; and daughter, Naomi; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren; and a large extended family of friends in Colorado Springs. Doris joins her husband at the Shrine of Remembrance in Colorado Springs, Colorado. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 20, 2023, at the Shrine of Remembrance "America the Beautiful" Chapel, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd., Colorado Springs, CO 80910. Inurnment will follow at the Shrine of Remembrance Mausoleum, Garden of Angels. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
