Doris Sestokas Obituary

Doris Constance (Smith) Sestokas, 91, passed away after many years of Alzheimer's disease. Doris was born July 9, 1924, in Westbury, Long Island, NY. She grew up with her parents, Harold and Elsie Smith, a sister, Muriel and a brother, Donald, all who predeceased Doris.

Doris graduated from Westbury High School and met Victor G. Sestokas, Sr. at a USO dance. They were married August 16th, 1942, and she became the consummate military wife with Victor for almost 73 years.

Most of all, Doris was a devoted wife and mother and friend to her 5 children: Janet Kuhnle, Vic Sestokas, Jr., Nancy Groom, Linda Shinder, and Dee Hironimus. Doris and Victor were also fortunate to have 10 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. Everyone who knew Doris loved her and will always have a place in their hearts for her.

Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at the Colorado Springs Masonic Center, 1150 Panorama Dr., Colorado Springs, CO 80904. Flowers or memorial contributions to the Alzheimer's Association are welcome.
