Dorothy Bush Obituary

Dorothy B. Bush passed away on July 27, 2016 after dealing with health issues over the last two years. She was born in Grayburg, TX to parents Jack and Mabel White on September 16, 1928.

Dorothy attended Paul Quinn College in Waco, TX where she met her future husband Johnnie K. Bush, they were married on November 16, 1950 and while he served in the Army, they had two sons. After returning from a Tour of duty in Germany they returned to Colorado Springs and made this home.

Dorothy was a devout member of Payne Chapel AME church where she was involved in many of the Church programs and enjoyed attending Sunday School and bible classes, she also served as the Church secretary and housing secretary for a few years.

Dorothy retired from the Ampex Corporation after many years of service; from there she worked for Comcast and worked for Lutheran Family Services which she really enjoyed.

She was preceded in death by her parents Jack and Mabel White, Her brother Rev. Maurice Berry, her two sisters Thelma Coleman and Ella Mae Benton, and her husband Johnnie K. Bush.

Dorothy is survived by her son's Terry L. Bush and Johnnie K. Bush Jr, and two grandchildren Tracey and Bryan Bush and several nieces and nephews.

There will be a viewing Monday August 8, 2016 at Angelus Chapel 1104 S. Circle Drive from 4:00pm to 7:00pm. The Memorial services will be on Tuesday August 8, 2016 at Payne Chapel AME church 3625 Marion Dr. at 11:00am with Burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery 1005 S. Hancock Ave.

My sincere condolences to the family of Mrs. Dorothy Bush. I was blessed to meet and associate with her since 1986. She was a beautiful person, who always had an open ear & heart. She will be truly missed. Rest in Paradise Mrs. Bush. May God bless you and keep you (family) in His care.
