Dorothy Crowe Obituary

Dorothy Van Arsdell Crowe, 95, of Wilmington, DE, formerly of Colorado Springs, CO died September 1, 2010. She was a homemaker, former librarian, teacher and porcelain art instructor. Mrs. Crowe was born July 20, 1915 in Lexington, KY to Hord Sharp and Carrie (Wilson) Van Arsdell. As a resident of Colorado Springs for 39 years she was a member of The First Christian Church, Church Women United, World, State, and Local porcelain art groups, Chapter BO of PEO, Horticulture Art Society and Fine Arts Center. She was a graduate of the University of Kentucky and pursued extensive training in porcelain painting. Dorothy was married to Retired AF Chaplain and former Associate Minister of First Christian Church, Earl Crowe on June 18, 1940 in Lexington, KY who preceded her in death. She is survived by one sister, Eleanor V. Warren of Wilmington, DE and a number of nieces and nephews (one being Prof. Dale Warren of the University of KY Music Dept). A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 25, 2010 at 10:30 am at Lexington Cemetery, Lexington, KY. Memorial contributions may be made to First Christian Church, 16 E.
