Dorothy E. Leaf (Schaefer, nee Parker) passed away peacefully in her apartment on Saturday, May 13, 2006. She was born in Racine, WI to Olin and Belle (Reed) Parker. She married Clark A Schaefer in 1934 and they had four daughters: Kitty Curran, Barbara Schaefer, Carol Hilt, Jinny Baker. He died while the daughters were young. She later married Walter B. She was the loved mother to her daughters, grandchildren, great-grandmother and a favorite aunt. During her long life, she was a homemaker extraordinaire. She made the majority of clothing for her daughters including the "family" wedding dress. Holiday meals cooked and served by Dorothy were celebrations and cherished memories. She served her community in many capacities including singing in her church choir until she was 91. A Memorial Service for Dorothy will be held at Brighton Gardens, 1685 S. 21st Street. Saturday, May 20, at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers please send contributions to the Dorothy E. Parker Scholarship at Pikes Peak Community College Foundation.
