Dorothy Olson Obituary

Dorothy R. Olson, 83, passed away after a short illness on May 7, 2011 at Pikes Peak Hospice. Dorothy was born on May 3, 1928 in Yoder, Colorado to George and Ernestine Wagoner. She was preceded in death by her two brothers. She is survived by two sons: Larry (Martha) and Kevin. Seven grandchildren: Danny (Michelle), Ken, Tammy (Ken) Hughlett, Jeff, Ryan, Kaley, and Cjay: two great-grandchildren; Dylan and Kaleb, all of Colorado Springs. She and her husband Norman were married on Valentine's Day and were married for 59 years until his death in 2005. She lived an active life and enjoyed tending to her flower beds and spending time on making beautiful crocheted and embroidery items. She was a devoted member of the Central United Methodist Church for over 50 years. She enjoyed her family and friends and was always willing to share her many baked items with them. She also loved celebrating special occasions and holidays with her family. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Visitation will be from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 12 at Swan Law Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 13th at Central United Methodist Church, 4373 Galley Road. Interment will follow the funeral service at Evergreen Cemetery.

I enjoyed talking to Dorothy at the King Soopers retirement luncheons once a month..She reminded me so much of my Mom..I will miss her smile and her sense of humor..My prayers are with the Olson family...
