Dorothy Vidmar Obituary

Dorothy, 89, born in Eastern Colorado, was married to Albert in June, 1940. She was predeceased by parents Henry Hadley and Julia Gahart, who homesteaded in Edison; husband, Albert, sisters Dixie (Dick) Teague, and Mary Alice Hadley. Dorothy is survived by: 2 sons,1 daughter, 4 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, 1 sister, and California relatives. In 1937 she graduated from CSHS (Palmer) and then attended Colorado State Teachers College in Greeley. After college she taught at Alta Vista School and worked as an educational secretary for 18 yrs. As an active member of Sacred Heart Parish for 70 years, she loved her involvement with the Sacred Heart Guild and other church groups. She was a supporter of many charities, and a member of local community organizations. She was a voracious reader, loved crossword puzzles, card/board games, art, music, gardening and traveling. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to Pikes Peak Hospice, Susan G. Komen for the Cure, Benet Hill Monastery, or Sacred Heart Church. Scripture service: Sacred Heart Church, Tuesday Oct 26th 6:30 PM Funeral service: Sacred Heart Church, Wednesday Oct 27th 11:00 A.M. reception to follow.

I remember both your father and mother so fondly. Good people, salt of the earth. I couldn't began to say enough nice things about both. How blessed you are to have had parents like them! I taught at West Jr. (Home Ec) 60's and 70's, and would see Dorothy when I lived closer on the west side. Peace be with you and know the Lord is taking good care of both! Pat
