Douglas McCleary Obituary

Douglas A. McCleary, 60, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, passed away on November 7, 2012. The funeral service will be held at 10 am November 10th, 2012, at Evergreen Cemetery. Chaplain Major David Arredondo will be officiating. Visitation will be held from 6 pm to 8 pm November 9, 2012, at Evergreen Funeral Home. The reception will be held at Evergreen Funeral home immediately after the service. Doug was born in Wichita, Kansas, on October 17, 1952. He served in the United States Army from May 1970 to May 1974. He loved his troops! Doug worked as a Mail Clerk for Evans Army Hospital for 18 years. He enjoyed Geology and Archaeology. He was a Civil War buff and enjoyed studying Ancient Civilizations. He enjoyed metal detecting, building automobile models, and riding his Harley. Doug is survived by his wife of 6 years Miriam McCleary, daughter Cynthia McCleary, son Nickolas McCleary, daughter Cheryl Clyde; brothers: David, Donnie, Dean, Randy, Ronnie, Shawn, Scott, Steve, Rusty, sisters Debbie, and Linda; and grandchildren Marcus Jr., Nicole, Natalie, Hayden, Kaymon, Bradley and his dogs Jack and Barbie and other family and friends. Doug is preceded in death by his father Gordon McCleary, mother Pauline McCleary, and brothers Dennis and Richard. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Pikes Peak Hospice at www.pikespeakhospice.org in memory of Douglas McCleary.
