Duane Alger Obituary

Duane Lafayette Alger, born February 7, 1919 in Provo, Utah, died at 10:37 a.m. on the 16th of August 2005 at St. Francis Hospice. He served in the U.S. Army, Finance Corps, for 20 years. He retired a CWO-3. In 1966 he opened the first Dunkin Donut franchised store in Colorado. Later, he opened a second store in Colorado Springs, and one in Del City, Oklahoma. He attended BYU and Woodbury Business College. He is survived by his wife Barbara Alger, two daughters Bonnie Marie Jakobsen of Edmunds, Washington, The Reverend Dr. Sandra McClinton of Black Mountain, North Carolina five grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. Entombment will be at Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Services will be private.
