Duane, age 92 of Colorado Springs, Colorado passed away on October 13, 2023.
Duane was born in Red Cloud, Nebraska. At the age of seven, he and his family moved from Nebraska to Colorado Springs, Colorado.
In high school Duane was a multi-sport athlete. He was one of five selected from the state of Colorado for the all-state basketball team.
On August 17, 1952, he married his soulmate Carolyn Phillips at Shove Memorial Chapel in Colorado Springs. They were married for 71 years.
Carolyn and Duane have four children – Kay Montoya (Larry), Leanne Skupa Lee, Alan Skupa (Adel), Lori Sauve. They have five grandchildren as well as great grandchildren.
Duane worked for Colorado Interstate Gas for 42 years.
He is preceded in death by his daughter Leanne Skupa Lee.
At Duane's request, there will be no funeral or memorial service.
