Dwain L. Schuette, age 94, a longtime resident of Apache Junction, Arizona and formerly of Colorado Springs, Colorado passed away on Sunday, September 4, 2022 in Mesa, Arizona.
He was born on October 31, 1927 in Waseca, Minnesota to the late Earl Charles Edward and Emma (Bonin) Schuette. He soon attended country school in a rural schoolhouse north of Waseca. In eighth grade he was summoned by his father to work the family farm.
At age 16, he was drafted into the Army. He took basic training in Georgia and served his country by helping to clean up the mess in Europe after World War II.
When he was assigned back to the United States, he was a Radio Operator, Ski Trooper, and Mountain Climber for the Army.
He married Elaine Clarice Scribner on March 10, 1951 in Mason City, Iowa. They began to raise a family at that time, with their sons, John and Bob, and daughter, Diane in Albert Lea, Minnesota and later in Black Forest, Colorado. Dwain was an automotive mechanic until his retirement in the early 1970's, having previously owned Dwain's Transmission in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
The couple retired to Apache Junction, Arizona where they were active in various veterans organizations and the Eagles Club.
He enjoyed travel, his yard, and road trips. He will be dearly missed.
