Earl Baker Obituary

Earl Myron Baker, age 88, a longtime resident of Colorado Springs, Colorado passed away on August 23, 2011 at Parkmoor Village Healthcare Center. Earl was born on February 28, 1923 in Wichita Falls, Texas to the late Earl Myron Baker, Sr. and Phebe Van Horn Baker. He served in the United States Air Force and later worked as an engineer, manufacturing neutron generators. Earl married Delora Lanell Cox on April 14, 1943 in Garden City, Texas and together raised two sons. They moved to Colorado Springs in 1954 and joined Pulpit Rock Church in 1960 where he served as a teacher, deacon, trustee, and was on many different boards. Earl is survived by his sons, Richard Baker (Jennifer) and Lee Baker (Carol), siblings, Bill Baker (Bobbie) and Janet Hurley (Elmer) and by four grandchildren, Kurt Baker, James Baker (Sarah), Katie Baker (Osvaldo) and Teryn Haidle (Kelvin). Visitation will be held from 8:30 AM- 9:30 AM on Monday, August 29, 2011 with funeral services at 9:30 AM at Pulpit Rock Church, 301 Austin Bluffs Pkwy., Colorado Springs, Colorado 80918. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Colorado Springs. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to MAP International. 4700 Glynco Parkway, Brunswick, GA 31525-9917.
