Earnest Talbot Obituary

Earnest Raymond Talbot was born May 18th 1939, in Ludlow, MA, and went to be with his lord on February 25th, 2017 in Colorado Springs.

Earnest leaves behind his wife of 52 years, Sherry Ann (Long) Talbot; two daughters, Kelly Jane Talbot Lasalle and Jainie Louise Talbot; four grandchildren, Nicolas Joseph Talbot, Margaret Louise Lasalle, Katherine Juliette Lasalle and Logan Raymond Earls; one Great grandchild, Lucas Zane Tesh; three brothers, two sisters and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his older brother.

He was a long time resident of Colorado Springs and a proud veteran of both The US Navy and Air Force reserve. Also an automotive enthusiast, he spent his spare time working on and rebuilding cars. He loved traveling and going on vacation with his family and friends, who he held dear. He spent as much time with his grandchildren as possible, including attending sporting events and road trip adventures. During his tenure in the Navy, he was a barber and he loved to attend air shows.

You will be greatly missed and we all appreciate you and everything you've done for us. We love you Pep.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, March 10, 2017 at St. Patrick Catholic Church at 10:00 AM.

Dear Sherry and Family,
At this time I want to share my thoughts, prayers and condolences regarding the passing of Ernie, or as the folks in Colorado knew him as E.T. For myself, as supervisor of the Westover ARB Aircraft Electrical Shop (and aircraft/AGE equipment Battery Shops), I knew him as of course as Ernie. When folks from AGE came to our shop with the batteries from the AGE equipment for servicing and recharging, Ernie was always a gentleman. Well, maybe that was because he knew Sherry was working upstairs also, and he had to be on his best behavior in the Hangar 7 area, LOL. Kidding aside, both of you were fine folks to have worked with here at Westover ARB, Chicopee, Massachusetts, home of the 439th AW. I'm sure your moving to Peterson AFB, Colorado was our loss at Westover, and their gain of two fine folks.
Today, I can smile to know Ernie has taken his final flight now on the wings of an eagle. Also, it was my pleasure to assist you when Ernie was making his VA service connected claim for C123 Agent Orange exposure when he worked at Westover ARB.
I salute Ernie for his service to our country.
Paul A. Bergeron (SMSgt. Retired, also former USN)

Dear Talbot Family,
Please accept my condolences for your loss. ET was my first military supervisor when I arrived at the AGE Shop,901st TAG/302nd Airlift Wing, Peterson AFB, CO 34 years ago. As a recent high school graduate and brand new Air Force Reserve member, he became a mentor and instructor in my career field (Aerospace Ground Equipment Mechanic) for the next four years. I also had the distinct pleasure of working with his wife, Sherry in the Plans, Scheduling and Documentation office several years later. After they retired, ET and Sherry participated in alumni events and came back to the 302d for special events. I am saddened to lose ET as a member of my Air Force Reserve Family.
