Edgar Holman Obituary

Edgar E. Holman, 71, of Colorado Springs, CO, died on May 24, 2017.

Born to Charles and Burdelle Holman on April 18, 1946 in Newark, OH, Ed spent much of his youth participating in Boy Scouts, where he earned the rank of Eagle Scout. As an adult BSA volunteer, he also attained Vigil Honor, was recognized with the George Meany award and completed Wood Badge training. He worked long hours as a letter carrier for the USPS so that he could provide a better life for his family. After 36 years, Ed retired to life of junk collecting and generally driving his wife crazy. A collector all his life, Ed amassed a patch collection of epic proportions, while perfecting the art of telling bad jokes to anyone who would listen.

Ed is survived by his wife of nearly 48 years, Susan; sons, Erin and Ben; brothers, Charles and Rod and his grand-dog Lily. Services will be held at 2:00pm, Saturday, May 27 at First Congregational United Church of Christ.

Donations may be made in his honor to the Boy Scots of America, the American Diabetes Association or Cheley Colorado Camps
