Edith Bartley Obituary

Edith Bartley, born on December 28, 1927 in Wehen, Germany to Hermann and Katarina Feix, passed away in California on May 1, 2016. She is survived by daughters Monika (Mike) Jackson-Cook, Ingrid "Inger" (David) Huffine of Indiana, grandsons James Jackson of North Carolina, Roy (Melissa) Jackson of Florida, Chris Huffine and Cari(Eric) Mankowski of Colorado, and great grandchildren Madison, Dean, and Ethan. She was preceded in death by her brothers Hermann and Alvin.

Edith survived World War II in Germany and later immigrated to the United States as a military wife. After settling in Colorado Springs in 1961, she became a well known and beloved "fixture" in the ladies-wear departments at Woolco and later, Wal-Mart. She was active in the German American and Enzian Clubs. She participated in nearly every 5K and 10K Volksmarch with her dog, Sonny. She was an active member of The Bell Ringers which performed all through the state of Colorado including a performance at the State Capitol.

Her refusal to ever "give up," Her infectious laugh and sense of humor made her a joy to be around. She was selfless to her friends and family and a loving mother, grandmother, and mother in law. She was dearly loved by her family and will be missed.
