Edna Hahn Obituary

Our beloved mother and grandmother, Edna Hahn, at the age of 100 passed peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on the evening of June 20, 2008. She was the youngest daughter of the late Julius and Lena Popp. Edna was born in Haven, Kansas on April 28, 1908 and graduated from Haven High School and then received her teacher's certificate from Seward Lutheran Teachers College. She taught in Lutheran parochial schools in Nebraska, Kansas, Iowa and Colorado. Edna had a talent for music which led to employment in various music stores in Colorado Spring and in giving music lessons. Edna married her college sweetheart, Arthur Lusmann on December 29, 1931, who later died in 1954. She married Carlton Hahn on May 21, 1961, who preceded her in death in 1994. Her eight siblings also preceded her in death. Edna is survived by her daughter, Darlene Lusmann Perkins and four grandchildren: Brian Perkins, Jeff Perkins (Kim), Cheryl Ireland (Darrel), Cynthia Perna (Frank). She is also survived by great grand­daughters, Ariana Ireland, Sarah and Shawn Thurman, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, June 27, 2008 at Evergreen Funeral Home 1830 E Fountain Blvd. Colorado Springs. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of choice.
