Edward Dunn Obituary

Edward J. Dunn went to be with the Lord on October 7, 2009 after a lengthy battle with various illnesses. He was born to John Dudanovich and Stella Kosloski in Pittston, Pennsylvania on June 26, 1928. Edward J. Dunn joined the United States Army in November 1946 after graduation from Plymouth High School in Pennsylvania. He served in Korea as a lineman as part of the 6th Infantry Division and was discharged in 1948. He worked various jobs and again his country called him to serve in the United States Air Force in 1954. His Air Force career took him to Germany , Canada, Thailand, Turkey, Andrews Air Force Base and Ent Air Force Base. He married Joan M. Marsden in 1958. He retired from the Air Force in 1974, and started a career with Civil Service at the United States Air Force Academy. Edward J. Dunn enjoyed working with the Air Force Academy Cadets. He retired in 1990 to pursue his love of reading, going to church, working at the soup kitchen, photography, Volks marches, scrap booking, and traveling. He was an avid fan of the Colorado Rockies, Sky Sox, CC Hockey, and Air Force Football. Edward was preceded in death by his wife, Joan M. Dunn, and one brother, Robert F. Dunn. He is survived by his son, Edward Peter Dunn and his wife, Jodi Dunn. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary Service at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, October 12, 2009 at The Springs Funeral Services, 3115 E. Platte Avenue, Colorado Springs, CO 80909. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 13, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1830 S. Corona Avenue, Colorado Springs, CO. The family requests that memorial donations be made to the Soup Kitchen and Mesa House, 420 Mesa Road, Colorado Spring, CO 80905.
