It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Edward "Ed" Fryar, who departed this life on Thursday, May 1st, 2025, at the age of 93 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. A devoted husband, father, Papa, Great-Papa, and friend, Ed leaves behind a legacy of strength, love, and service.
He is survived by his two daughters, Mary Janssen and Carol Wright;his three siblings Carolyn, Marilyn, and Kenneth; his three grandchildren, Kristen Smith, Nick Janssen, and Katelyn Wright; and his five—soon to be six—great-grandchildren.He is also lovingly remembered by his extended family: Tim Wright, Richard Smith, Sarah Janssen, and Robert Carpenter, who will forever cherish his memory and carry his legacy forward.
Ed will be remembered for his warm smile, unwavering love for his family, his love for Western Films and John Wayne, his passion for the game of baseball, and for his dedication and service to our country. Though he is no longer with us in person, his love and lessons will remain in our hearts forever.
A rosary will be held Tuesday, May 13th at 9:15 am, funeral at 10:00 am at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with a committal service to follow at 12:00 pm at Pikes Peak National Cemetery. A reception will follow at 2:00 pm at The Lounge, 3440 W Carefree Cir 80917.
