Edward Andrew Hess, Jr.
April 7, 1946 - December 15, 2017
Edward Andrew Hess, Jr, 71, of Clayton, NC passed away at home surrounded by family on December 15, 2017. He was born on April 7, 1946 in York, PA to the late Edward A. and Phyllis (Stover) Hess.
Mr. Hess had several jobs over the years that he loved. He served in the Air Force for a short time, he was deputy coroner in York County, PA, he worked as deputy sheriff and head medical tech at El Paso County Jail in Colorado and retired after working as a Clinical Research manager at PPD and Duke in North Carolina. His greatest accomplishment was becoming a registered nurse and helping others.
Edward is survived by his loving wife of 49 1/2 years, Susan Foster Hess; daughters, Chanda (Russell) Stevenson of Colorado, Victoria (Steve) Wagner and Erika Hess of North Carolina. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, Edward and Terry (Ashley) Lindquist of NC, Penelope and Paul Stevenson of CO, Andrew and Foster Raines of NC, Josh and Steven (Gina) Wagner of NC; two great-grandchildren, Noah and Michael Wagner; his aunt, Joan Shearer of York, PA; uncle, Pete Stover of New Oxford, PA; special family friend, Kecia Massengill and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his aunt Geraldine Lucabaugh and his grandparents, Paul F. and Grace (Keeny) Stover.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Lewy Body Dementia Association 912 Killian Hill Road SW, Lilburn, GA 30047 www.LBDA.org.
Funeral Services will be held at McLaurin Funeral Home.

It seems so unreal to think you are gone....... My heart is broken for the entire family Especially Mama Sue, her heart is broken..... I was only blessed having you as a part of my life for 7 years, but during those years you always had a way of making bad days better. And your gift of story telling was like no one I've ever known.
