Remembering a wonderful person and someone that was great in his profession! Continued prayers for Gods strength when those times are difficult!

My condolences to you! I lost my brother last June it will be a year on the 22nd. And I miss him very much. You don't know me but I'm an old friend of Audrey's from Chicago. You might know my nephew from St. Johns Michigan His name is Dan Glowacki, He knows you. Anyway I saw this on face book and I just wanted to say God Bless and comfort you and your family. This goes back many years, decades if I'm allowed, to a driveway basketball court. It was me and my brother, Tom O'Rourke, vs. Eddie K and Mike Lavey. I honestly can't remember who won, but we banged it out that day. Afterwards, Eddie told me I had all the skills just keep working hard. He said my "textbook" shooting form would keep me moving in the right direction. I was a 10th grader. Tom told me to listen to Ed because he was a player. Later in life, he took my horrible golf form and moved me in the right direction.
Eddie was a cherished friend to my brother, Tom, and a great guy in my life!
Although we will miss him here on earth, God loves having him come home.

Ed,Rosemary and I were fellow parishioners. I always enjoyed seeing them at Mass and sometimes afterwards, or at the monthly parish breakfast, talking college football, they being Michigan State and my being Alabama. Maybe one day, if I'm lucky and if I'm good, Ed and I can talk college football again in the presence of some football greats. May the perpetual light shine upon you, Ed, and may the gracious Lord comfort Rosemary and your family.

I am so sorry to hear of Eddie's passing..My thoughts and prayers are with the family. Such a difficult time, but just remember all of the wonderful times!!!

Very sorry to hear the loss of my former boss at The Emerald. A true family man and a great Spartan. He was always so kind when I returned to play The Emerald, even when I just showed up out of nowhere! He always mentioned his family and was tremendously proud of his children.

We never had the pleasure to meet Ed, but we feel like we knew him well. Our daughter had the honor to be an altar server at Ed's funeral today; we hope his family can take some comfort in knowing that someone with significant links to northwest Michigan cared for him today with her administration of the incense during the mass. We were amazed at the numerous common factors we have with him. We lived in DeWitt, had tickets for MSU games, and have vacationed every summer in northern Michigan, including Harbor Springs, Petoskey, and Cheboygan. When we make our annual trip to the Traverse City area this summer, we'll be sure to say a prayer for Ed.

I have very fond memories of the entire Kelbel family.....my thoughts and prayers are with you. I caddied for Ed Sr. At Walloon Lake C C and followed Ed's carreer in golf....he just recently called me about one of his students.

Dear Kelbel Family, Eddie truly was the person we admire and hope to live our own lives as Eddie has lived. He obviously had interest, concern and love for all who entered his life. He will be missed hugely. Our prayers are given to support all of his family at this difficult time. Our love to all of you.

My heartfelt sympathy goes out to the Kelbel family. Ed was a true professional and friend and he will be missed not only by me but by his many PGA friends and colleagues.

We are very saddened for your loss, Ed and your family will be in our thoughts and prayers. Although we only knew Ed for a short time, we could tell he was a great guy and really cared about the well being of the students in the PGM program.
Our family appreciates the efforts Ed went to last May to get my son Dan registered and into the program on late notice. Dan has enjoyed learning from Ed, and has talked about him many times and will miss him greatly through the rest of his UCCS PGM experience.

I will truly miss Ed. His mentoring and support were huge reasons for me becoming a PGA professional, and I will always remember the lessons he passed on to me.

Ed Kelbel was the reason our son Ryan went to UCCS. From the moment we met Ed he was magical in the sense that he made you feel like you belonged and that you had found a home.He was more than just a teacher and mentor. He was a friend and a inspiration! His love of life and positive attitude was always conveyed and passed on to his students. Ryan and his classmates were so fortunate to have had the time they did with Ed and to learn so much from him.
They will go forward with Ed in their hearts and his positive attitude in their heads and change the world a little at a time just like him.
Thank you to the Kelbel family for sharing such a great man with our son.

So Sorry to hear of Ed's passing. My prayers are with the family. I will remember many kind moments with Ed around northern Michigan as a fellow PGA member and stopping by to see Ed in St. John's. Truly one of the great guys you meet in the world.

I am sad to hear of Ed's passing. Just last week I drove past Emerald with a fellow PGA Professional on our way to the PGA Spring meeting and we spoke of missing Ed in Michigan and wondered how he was doing. We have fond memories. My thoughts & prayers are with you!

I'll never forget the smile and the kind heart Ed had! We would always talk college basketball and for three years I had the pleasure to learn from Ed! Very sad to hear this news. Ed was a great golf professional in his many years in Michigan. He always had kind words for everyone he spoke to. Northern Michigan golf has lost a comrade of high esteem. My thoughts and prayers for the family of this wonderful man.

Ed had so many great jokes and sayings. I think my favorite would include any statement that he started with "Well, in a nutshell."
