Edward Lee Kennedy of Centennial passed away peacefully in his sleep on August 5th at the age of 88 years old.
Ed was born in Omaha, NE on June 17th, 1935 to Kenneth Kennedy and Helen (Smith) Kennedy. He was a graduate of Benson High and the University of Omaha. As a young man, Ed enjoyed scouting and led scout troops in the U.S. and Germany, achieving Eagle Scout. Ed served in the United States Air Force from 1956 - 1960. Ed was married to Diane (Morrison) Kennedy on March 17th, 1967. They moved to Colorado shortly thereafter. Ed was active as an elder and usher at Pulpit Rock church and they later attended Fellowship Bible church. Ed worked at Weberg Furniture in Colorado Springs for over two decades and in retirement he worked at Focus on the Family. Ed and Diane celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2017.
In addition to collecting coins, Ed enjoyed spending his spare time exploring the back roads in the mountains of Colorado. Ed is survived by his sons Keith (Donna) and Kurt (Molly), daughter Cathy and many grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife Carol (Schuett), his wife Diane and oldest son Mark.
A celebration of Ed's life will be held on September 29th from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at Lakewood United Methodist Church located at 1390 Brentwood St, Lakewood, CO 80226.

Uncle Ed was funny, Charming and witty. and loved by all. My mother (his sister) Kay always talked about how good he was. RIP Uncle Ed!

Uncle Ed was a joy to be around when we would come for dinners during Thanksgiving or Christmas holidays, his sense of humor and easy smile will always stay with me.
