Edward Townsell Obituary

Edward Townsell, 86, of Colorado Springs, CO, passed away Sunday, April 10, 2011, at the home of his daughter, Mary (Townsell) Ramsey. Born on January 10, 1925 in Caney, Kansas, he was the son of the late William & Clara (Whalen) Townsell. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Crane Townsell, brothers, James Townsell, and William Townsell, Jr. and sisters, Irene (Townsell) O'Brien and Marie Townsell. Ed served as a Lieutenant Commander and a pilot in the U.S. Navy and was employed as a chemical engineer by Hercules Powder Co. for many years. He is survived by siblings, Sister Dorothy Townsell, Dubuque, IA, Catherine Voisinet, Pensacola, FL, Mildred Willett and Leo Townsell, Buffalo, NY; children, Ann Townsell, Cumberland, MD, Patrick Townsell and wife Patti, and Mary Townsell Ramsey, Colorado Springs, Rosalie Mulcahy, Mt. Airy, GA, and Daniel Townsell, Denver, CO; grandchildren, Sean and Denis Mulcahy, Matt and Chris Ramsey, Kaitlyn and Holly Townsell; and four great grandchildren, along with his many friends who added much happiness and meaning to his life. A mass will be celebrated in his memory in Colorado Springs.
