Edward Wales Lankford Obituary
Wales served as an Ordained Elder in the Church of the Nazarene in the communities of Colorado City, Texas; Lubbock, Texas; Amarillo, Texas; Big Spring, Texas; Harrah, Oklahoma; and Colorado Springs, Colorado. He retired from full time ministry in 1995. He continued to minister in retirement through teaching and evangelism.
Wales is survived by: wife, Linda Sue Lankford; sister, Zola(Bob) Norton along with his four children: Wayla(Sid) Murrow of Westminster Colorado, Lee (Donna) Lankford of Eaton Colorado, Wynne (Caryl) Lankford of Midlothian Virginia, and Tracy (Sue) Lankford of Widefield Colorado along with ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held October 12, 2013 at 10:00a.m. at Springs First Church, 4120 E Fountain Blvd, Colorado Springs, CO 80916.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to a memorial fund at Colorado Springs First Church.

When we were students at Bethany Nazarene College we looked up to Wales as an example of dedication and godliness. Because we were serving as missionaries in South Africa from 1965-2003 our paths didnot cross. But after returning to the States we did get to seem him at a NNC homecoming. Thank you Wales for the impact you had on us during our years at BNC. May the God of all comfort be with Zola and the family

Among my fondest memories from Bible College was sitting under his ministry at Southgate and getting to know him not only as a Pastor but as a friend. He was a wonderful example to us all and will be missed by those who knew and loved him. I'm sure he's making his rounds and has shaken hands with half of heaven already! May God bless his family.

Brother Wales, "The Pope of Harrah" was a blessing to the entire community. The impact on our lives and on our families is as real today as when we first met. His legacy of being a Godly example, a faithful friend, and a trusted mentor lives on. He will be missed, he is already missed. I thank God for a man like E. Wales Lankford.

Pastor Lankford was such an amazing man that has left a legacy behind in his family. We want you to know how special you are Lankford family to us. There are people who in your life that make a impression for life that is your father and each of you. He will be greatly missed but will go on in each of you.
Your family has such grace and love I remember when Pastor was getting Jim and I ready to marry the time and love he gave us. It's amazing to me 23 years ago next week I was in his office getting married. Your mother opening her home to the youth has never left my heart how much they loved us all. The brothers I never had I had through you all. Thank you for sharing your father, Thank you for sharing your family and Thank you for sharing your selfs. May God bless you and comfort you during this time of celebrating your father.
