Edward Young, 84, passed away on January 25, 2019 from complications of seizures and strokes. Ed was born in Pulaski, Tennessee to Raymond and Ethel Young who preceded him in death. He graduated from Middle Tennessee State University in 1957, receiving a commission in ROTC, serving in the US Army until 1970. He earned the rank of Major and was awarded various commendation and gallantry medals, mostly in Vietnam. After 12 years in advertising sales Ed worked in retail for 23 years including Joslins, Foleys and retiring from Macy's in 2007. After retiring he ran the Sunrise UMC Thrift Store for 5 years.
Ed is survived by his wife, Lynn, of 55 years. Other survivors include his brother, Earl (Pam) of Atlanta, Georgia; son, Ray (Beth) and daughter, Dixie (Roy) both of Colorado Springs, Colorado; eight grandchildren: Trevor, Allyson, McKenna, Eli and Jensyn Young, and Ambur, Cameron and Jared Jensen.
Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at Sunrise United Methodist Church, 2655 Briargate Boulevard in Colorado Springs with a reception to follow at the church.
