Edwin Baker Obituary

Edwin Carol Baker, 85, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, passed away December 14th, 2013 in Colorado Springs.

Edwin was born in Lamar, Colorado to Edwin Ellis and Stella Mae Baker on December 9, 1928. After graduating from Lamar Union High School in 1947, he enlisted in the United States Navy and served during the Korean conflict. He spent time on LSTs and aircraft carriers as an electronic and nuclear technician. Following his honorable discharge from the USN, he remained in the field of electronics until retirement.

He enjoyed fishing, camping, and woodworking. He was kind, had a servant's heart, and found great joy in assisting and bringing smiles to others, especially as a deacon and usher at Village Seven Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Beth Baker, son Craig Baker of Arizona, daughter Karen Tassey of Colorado Springs and grandson Daniel Tassey. Also surviving Edwin are his siblings Margaret Williams, Gwyneth Johnson, Anne Omer, Richard Baker and Roy Baker.

A memorial service will be held at Village Seven Presbyterian Church, 4055 Nonchalant Circle, Colorado Springs, CO 80917, on Thursday, December 19, 2013 at 10:00 a.m.
