Eileen Cook Obituary

Eileen M. Cook, 87, of Colorado Springs passed away on August 18, 2010. Eileen was born on September 22, 1922 in a farm home north of Lytton, IA to the late Hance and Florence (Cleland) Helmbrecht. Eileen graduated Palmer High School in 1940 and attended beauty school for two years. She worked as a contract estimator for Montgomery Ward for several years. Eileen married John Cook and together had two children. Eileen is survived by her daughter, Christina (Rocky) Rodriguez and one grandson, Matthew D. Green. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1989 and one beloved son, Gene L. Cook in 1997. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, August 23, 2010 at Evergreen Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Pikes Peak Hospice and/or Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Dear Christina, Matt and Rocky,
Please receive our heart felt sympathy on the loss of your mother and grandmother.
We met her once during a Thanksgiving celebration in 2007 and we appreciated her Iowa heart since we were both born in Iowa. Know that she is not in pain now and happily visiting with those that have passed before her. Please do not hesitate to call on us for any help, comfort or stories of her life. We are here for you.
