Eileen White Obituary

White
Eileen Patricia
(Sweeney) White
January 8, 1944
February 26, 2025

Eileen White, who cared for the sick, welcomed the stranger, and left a legacy of love, passed from this life to the next February 26, 2025.
Eileen Patricia Sweeney was born in Bridgeport, Conn., to Anthony and Anna (Connors) Sweeney on January 8, 1944. She grew up in Lordship, the youngest of ten in a loving Irish family. Eileen attended nursing school and moved to Hollywood, working at Cedars-Sinai hospital. She married a soldier, Carl White, in 1969. They settled and lived in Colorado for over 40 years, raising three children and holding countless gatherings with friends and family.
Eileen worked for Pikes Peak Hospice for 20 years. She approached her vocation and life through her strong faith in God: with love, compassion, a wry sense of humor and an unflinching willingness to walk with people during their most difficult times.
Her way of being continued to encourage friends, caregivers and her family even as she made her journey with Alzheimer's. The family is grateful for those who supported Eileen through these years, especially faithful friends Sue and Jan, the Choice Hospice team and the caregivers at Brookdale Broadmoor.
Eileen is survived by her children, Moira (Ryan) Pendleton of Monument, Sean White of Colorado Springs, Tara (Gil) Afriat of Givat Ada, Israel, and grandchildren Spencer and Bo Allaby, Anna, Emma and Ryan Pendleton, Sammy, Sarah and Alex White, and Nava, Eden and Etan Afriat.

My Aunt Eileen was such a dear person to me and my family. She was always so kind and loving to me. She was like a sister to my mother, Geraldine Jones. My mother and father spent many weekends in Frisco, Colorado, a few road trips such as visiting Yellowstone Park and seeing "Old Faithful", many family picnics and gatherings, family holidays, and countless dinners out on the town with Eileen and Carl. I was blessed to know her and Uncle Carl and their beautiful children, Moira, Sean, and Tara, my second (?) cousins. My deepest condolences and love to your family.

Auntie Eileen´s house was always a magical place tucked in the pines of Black Forest - not only because of the natural beauty of the area, but because of all the love and good times with Auntie Eileen and Uncle Carl. Her warm, sweet voice echoes in my ears when I think about her. It´s hard to imagine her without her smiling Irish eyes, like that of my nanny Helen Sweeney, and all my loving great aunts and uncles. She loved babies and all children, and I always felt that when my grandma passed, she filled the void for us.
Today I feel lucky to have shared life with her, wish all her family and friends much peace in her passing, and know that God has a special place for her.
