James and Elaine were a most welcoming couple when myself and another international student stayed for a couple of weeks with them in 1995 while at CC. Their love and attention for us during our stay was something to behold and although we exchanged cards at Christmas, I have never forgotten their many kindnesses during our stay.
I am sending this to register the fact that they were a great credit not just to their family but the beautiful people of Colorado Springs x

Dear Judi, Kathy, and Lisa,
I am so sorry that I missed the notice regarding Elaine's death and memorial service. I surely would have attended, had I been aware. I am sorry to have missed that time with all of you.
Elaine was a gracious and beautiful woman, inside and out.
She meant so much to me as a friend for so many years; we were in the same Sunday School class, the same small group Bible study together with our husbands, for several years. She was my best tutor in prayer. I deeply respected her walk with the Lord, her faith, her humility, her servant heart, her faithfulness in prayer for so many, including my two sons. She modeled a godly life to all.
Please accept my sincere condolences. She is missed.
May God reward her faithfulness in the fruitful lives of her children and grandchildren.

With great love and heavy hearts we remember Elaine with her infectious smile and generous spirit. She was one of the most beautiful and faithful Christians we have ever met. May God comfort you in this time of great loss.
