Elfriede Raboteau Obituary

Elfriede Katharina (Bingenheimer) Raboteau, 79, of Colorado Springs, passed away on Friday, June 12, 2015.

Elfriede, the daughter of Peter and Elisabetha Bingenheimer, was born in Oppenheim, Germany where she grew up with four brothers. She later married and relocated to Fort Devins, Massachusetts and then Colorado Springs.

She is survived by brothers, Werner Bingenheimer of Oppenheim, Germany and Walter Bingenheimer of Mainz, Germany, and is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Ludwig and Peter, and former husband Edward Raboteau.

Ms. Frieda, as she was affectionately known by many, enjoyed a rewarding career teaching pre-school children (the Teddys) at Junior Academy in Colorado Springs where she later retired.

She loved gardening, cooking, knitting, crocheting, doll collecting, playing cards and winning at bingo. Many enjoyed her infamous rum cakes she baked during the holidays.

She is survived by five children, Denada Diaz and husband Frank of Colorado Springs, Karen Lucero and husband Gilbert of Colorado Springs, LT Keith Raboteau, USN (Ret) and wife Sherry of Chantilly, Virginia, Sylvia Costello and husband John of San Francsico, California and, Linda Patterson and husband Terry of Peyton, Colorado. She is preceded in death by her eldest son Cpl Edward Raboteau Jr., USMC.

Elfriede is survived by several loving in-laws, nieces, nephews, grand and great grandchildren, and a host of life long friends.

To honor her wishes, no service will be held.

Donations in Elfriede's memory may be made to Pikes Peak Hospice, 2550 Tenderfoot Hill St., Colorado Springs, CO 80906.
