Elijah Raygor Obituary

Elijah James Raygor, beloved of parents, Craig and Rojean Raygor and all who knew him, passed on April 22, 2006. Eli, an avid outdoorsman, departed from us while fishing with family and friends at Skagwauy Reservoir. Eli loved the beauty of nature, particularly as found in the mountainous outdoors. He found hiking, biking, boating and snow boarding to his liking. He was a gifted photographer and an accomplished drummer, who marched to his own beat. Eli radiated a true beauty, inside and out. His smile, laughter, love and kindness were contagious and affected everyone he met. Eli's giving and gentle spirit continues to inspire, strengthen, comfort and heal us until we are reunited. He was born in Colorado Springs, July 27, 1983 and lived in the area his entire life. He was a hard worker and a valued employee at Atmel Corporation. Eli leaves to cherish memories, many friends and family, including: his parents, brother, Daniel (wife, Celia); sister, Joni; grandmother, Marie Raygor; grandfather Keith Raygor; and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins. His grandparents, Dave and Lillian Holst are deceased. An outdoor Memorial Service will be held at Hillside Gardens and Nursery, 1006 S. Institute, Colorado Springs, on April 28, at 2:00 p.m. Contributions in Eli's memory may be made to Teller County Search and Rescue, PO Box 177, Woodland Park, CO., 80666.

Eli was always the type of person you yourself would like to be. The man was always at peace with the world, or if he wasn't he would make it seem that way. I know that if he were with us today physically rather than spiritually he would want us to all live together in peace and harmony. My deepest most heartfelt condolences go out to Ro, Dan, Celia, and Joni. We have all endured a lot this year with E and Craig's untimely passing but we are all here for each other. I really hope this next year will be a joyous one.

Find peace and comfort in the precious memories you will carry forever in your heart of Eli. In moments of sorrow, remember his smile, his laughter. He has touched more lives than you even realize. Know that Eli was a wonderful young man whom will be missed and remembered by many. To us left behind, it is hard to understand why such a young life would be ended so soon. Remember though, God is in control and He has His own plans for each of us. They may not be the plans we set out for ourselves or our children, but they are His plans and we must trust in Him. In only God's perfect timing, He took Eli home while he was doing something he loved. Hold on to your memories and look forward to the day of reunion, as it will come, according to God's plan.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you. God's love and strength will sustain you and carry you through.

Eli will be missed dearly. It's so hard to believe someone so young and full of life had to leave us so early. I'm sure god is taking care of him in Heaven. I just wish I had a chance to get to know him better. He will never be forgotten and will always be loved.

April 27, 2006

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.
