Elizabeth Anne Armour, age 81, passed away peacefully on October 7, 2025. A longtime resident of Manitou Springs and West Colorado Springs, Anne lived a life filled with creativity, faith, and love.
Born on June 27, 1944, in Denver, Colorado, to Sergeant Hugh and Isa (Moore) Purdy, Anne grew up in Sterling, Colorado, and graduated from Sterling High School before earning her degree from the University of Northern Colorado. She married Tom Armour in Sterling, CO, and they shared 16 years together.
Anne was an entrepreneur at heart and a true pioneer in the Colorado Springs restaurant community. Her culinary journey began with Café La Difference in 1985, followed by 3 Doors Down in Colorado Springs, and Café Sweet Annie in Manitou Springs. Later in life, after several years living with her family in Southern Baja California Sur—among the taco stands and chili fields that inspired her—she helped create her final restaurant, Crystal Park Cantina, a lasting tribute to her love of food, culture, and community.
A master gardener with an eye for beauty and a deep reverence for God's creation, Anne found joy in the simplest things—a blooming flower, a well-worked puzzle, or time spent with her grandchildren. She believed deeply in the healing power of food and nature and cherished her faith above all else. Anne was a devoted follower of Jesus and a beloved member of Calvary Worship Center in West Colorado Springs.
Anne is survived by her loving children, Necole (Armour) Fellows and Justin Armour; her brother, Mark Purdy; and her grandchildren: Holley Anne Fellows, Casey Fellows, Gunnar Fellows, Joah Armour, Avah Armour, and Gia Anne Armour. She was preceded in death by her son, Jason Armour; and her brother, Richard Purdy. She also leaves behind countless others who lovingly called her "Mom" throughout their lives—individuals who were shaped by her compassion, wisdom, and unwavering support.
A celebration of Anne's life will be held in early December 2025, once her college-aged grandchildren have completed their sports seasons and her family can gather together to honor her courageous and joyful life. Details will be shared in the coming weeks.
Anne Armour was a legend to all who knew her—a living reminder that anything is possible through love, hard work, and faith. When one of her patio plants finally bloomed, she would send bright photos to her family with a reminder of God's goodness. Her grit, grace, and devotion will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her, until we see her again.
