Elizabeth Cascio Obituary

ELIZABETH "BETTY" PHOEBE CASCIO
June 28, 1926 December 4, 2020
Elizabeth "Betty" Cascio, 94, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away due to natural causes on December 4, 2020. She was born Elizabeth Phoebe Blasig in Bloomfield, Connecticut to Mary and August Blasig.
Betty is survived by her brother August (Fred) Blasig, and sisters Mary Sullivan and Gertrude (Trudy) Cullina; daughters, Elizabeth Gallacher, Kathleen Outler, Suzanne (Joe) Billot, and son Scott Cascio; her grandchildren, Lesley Gallacher, Leah (Ian) Lewis, Gus Billot, Michael Billot, Michael Outler, and Ryan Outler; and her great grandchildren, Ivan, Oz, and Arrow Lewis. She was preceded in death by sons Jeffrey Cascio and Craig Cascio, parents August and Mary Blasig, and siblings Joseph Blasig and Margaret "Peggy" Longton.
Betty moved to Colorado Springs in 1955 where she raised six children, managed the family business for 18 years, participated in her church community and many bowling leagues, and was best known for being everyone's favorite and most-dedicated Avon lady, holding a tenure of more than 45 years. As an Avon lady, Betty was a top-selling representative every year and a member of the Honor Society. Through her Avon work, Betty showed she truly cared for people, dignified the lives of other women, and was a simply wonderful listener when someone just needed to talk. She formed many decades-long relationships with her customers who considered her a treasured friend.
In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family wishes for donations to be sent to The Paralyzed Veteran's of America or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Betty's name, and for you to (safely) spend time with those you love. A family memorial will be held at a later date.

Betty and my mother (Joan Krause) always had a great time on our bowling tournaments. She was a good friend as well. I am so sorry for your loss.

Betty was my friend for over 40 years. I met her when she rang my doorbell to sell Avon, and we stayed in touch even after I moved out of her district. She encouraged me to sell Avon! I am so sorry to hear of her passing - my Xmas card to her was returned to me just today. My sincere sympathy to the family. She was a beautiful, thoughtful, and dear friend.

I knew Mrs. Cascio (NEVER called her anything else) dating back to when Jeff and I were in grade school. She was a tough and formidable mom and she kept ALL of us in line. She was a great lady and she will always be in my heart.
