Elizabeth Faubion Obituary

Elizabeth Faubion was born normal on May 19, 1981. At age two months, she was shaken severely, which left her with catastrophic brain damage and stopped her development at that age. She came to our family when she was four months old and stayed for 24 years. The abuse did not stop her spirit, however. Throughout the years, this little red-haired Irish girl was able to laugh and play. She was always in the thick of our family and stole all of our hearts. She loved to be outdoors and loved music. Her life inspired our family to establish Kids Crossing Elizabeth Center, a non-profit child placement agency which is serving hundreds of foster, abused and neglected children in our area. Elizabeth's grandparents are Chuck and Mickey Drexler of Oshkosh, WI. Her beloved aunt and uncle are Debi and Mark Rolfing of Maui, HI. Her parents are Jan and Larry Faubion. She has many brothers and sisters, they are: Kurt and Julie Faubion, Rick and Jackie Porter, Becky Porter, Tim and Ana Porter, Darin Porter, Niccole and Dan Dees, Maria Carino-Faubion and Kris Faubion. Her local cousins, who were a vital part of her daily life, are: Christopher, Kaitlin, Zachariah, Ezekiel, Grace, Alyssa, Ashli, Connor, Gabriel and Alassandra. She has many friends in the medical, social services, educational, and other professional communities who have been an integral part of her support and life and, for them, we are most grateful. To assist in her dream and purpose, contributions may be made to Kids Crossing, 1440 Fountain Blvd., Colorado Springs, CO 80909. A pot-luck, picnic celebration of her life will be held at Kids Crossing on Wednesday, May 25th, 12:30 p.m. We are all comforted knowing that, now, Elizabeth is running and playing on her own.

Jan & Larry,

Elizabeth's leaving this world on the same date she arrived 24 years ago, truly speaks of the "Full circle of life". She was deeply loved by so many, and it was obvious the loving care by all of her family made it possible for her to complete the purpose God had for her here on earth.

Bless you both, Jan & Larry, for giving your daughter the loving home and family during her life.

I did not know your child personally, but have worked with children and adults of abused homes for years now and am glad to know that this child found such great love in your family. Every child deserves to have a life such as this. May you all find peace knowing she has been recieved by our Lord. God bless all of you!

Mom and Pa,

You know we are thinking of you. Punkin was and is such a special part of all of our lives. I can still remember the day she came into your home. That bright red hair, big blue eyes, and patches of adhesive on her cheeks holding the oxygen tubes. Who was to know what her life on earth could do, and did, for so many kids. She had a real purpose. Now her purpose was complete. She now, for the first time, can walk and talk, heck...drive a car, for all we know. Thanks also for allowing my children to experience such a wonderful child. It has allowed their minds to be wide open to different needs. They are not afraid of people that are different. We were very lucky to have her and she was very lucky to have you. Love, R, J, C, and K
