Elizabeth Joiner Obituary

Elizabeth A. Joiner, age 91, a resident of Colorado Springs since 1947, passed away on March 3, 2011 at Pikes Peak Hospice. Elizabeth Athelia Dinnebeck was born on June 28, 1919 in Fort Collins, Colorado to the late Archibald and Agnes Nancy (Laing) Dinnebeck. She was a 1937 graduate of Ft. Collins High School and attended Colorado State University. She married Marcus B. Joiner on September 5, 1972 in Athens, Greece. Marcus passed away in 2002. Beth was a member of First Presbyterian Church, the Garden of the Gods Garden Club, Kissing Camels Garden Club and the Tuesday Luncheon Club. She enjoyed knitting and was a gifted seamstress. She was the co-owner of Thelmas, a dress boutique on South Eighth Street. She will be best remembered for hosting wonderful parties at her home for her family and many friends. She is survived by her loving daughters: Diana Green of Los Angeles, California and Constance (husband, Richard) Jaouen of Casper, Wyoming. Also surviving her are her grandchildren: Chad (wife, Kathryn) Green; Valerie Green, Brant (wife, Mindy) Jaouen and Nicholas Jaouen. She also has three great-grandchildren: Lucie, Dylan and Caden Green. Mrs. Joiner was preceded in death by eight siblings: Esther O'Dell, Joan Kincaid, Maxine Erickson, Lillias Williams, Patricia Doran, Dale Dinnebeck, Theodore Dinnebeck and John Dinnebeck; and her former husband, Conrad Lapp. Memorial Services are planned for 2:00 pm on Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at First Presbyterian Church, 219 E. Bijou Street in Colorado Springs. A reception will follow the services at the Church. She will be inurned privately at the Shrine of Remembrance Chapel Mausoleum. Memorials may be made to the Pikes Peak Hospice Foundation, 825 E. Peak Avenue, Suite 600, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80903.
