Elizabeth Christine Fischer Lilly, 89, of Cincinnati, died on Monday, April 3, 2023 after a short illness. She was preceded in death in 2018 by her husband Terence (Terry) Lilly and is survived by her children, Anne Lilly Cone (Philip) and John Lilly (Vanessa); four grandchildren, Dr. Eugene Cone (Ellen), Andrew Cone, Jane Lilly and Edward Lilly; and two great-grandchildren, Lilly Cone and Walker Cone.
Mrs. Lilly was born in Geneva IL and graduated from Kemper Hall, a boarding school in Kenosha WI. She received her bachelor's degree from Bryn Mawr College. While working in textbook publishing in Chicago she met and married her husband. Later they settled in Hinsdale IL with their children, before moving to Cincinnati in 1978. During her first period living in Cincinnati, Mrs. Lilly was the first Director of Communications at Cincinnati Country Day School. After she and her husband moved away, she became Executive Director of the Colorado Opera Festival in Colorado Springs. They returned to Cincinnati in 2012.
An enthusiastic chorister from age 7 to 70, Mrs. Lilly sang in the Indian Hill Church Choir, Cincinnati, and the Taylor Memorial Choir at Grace & St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, Colorado Springs. Later she sang in the Marjorie P. Lee Chorus, Cincinnati. She served on the vestry of Grace & St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, on the advisory board of the Salvation Army of El Paso County CO, and on the board of Episcopal Retirement Services in Cincinnati.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday April 25, 11 AM at the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer. Central Parkway 45202; or to Episcopal Retirement Services for Affordable Living Communities, 3870 Virginia Ave 45227.
