Elizabeth Murphy Obituary

ELIZABETH ANN MURPHY
October 1,1950 July 31, 2020
Elizabeth Ann Murphy (Beth) 69, loving wife, mother, sister, Mimi, and friend passed away on July 31, 2020 due to complications of lymphoma.
Beth was born on October 1, 1950, in Yonkers, New York to Charles L. and Lucy (Ryan) Andrews. Along with her beloved husband Ken, she lived in Colorado Springs for the past 48 years, where she raised her family and worked at Foothills Elementary teaching young children to read. Her loves were her granddaughters and spending time at the beach (no matter where- as long as there was sun, sand, and saltwater) with family and friends.
Beth is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Lucy Andrews. She is survived by her husband Ken; daughter Jennifer (Brady Davis), and their daughters Madelyn and Lucy; son Matt (Laura Johnson); and siblings Charlie, Jimmy, Larry, and Ann. She will be forever missed by all who knew and loved her. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Beth's favorite local charity, the Children's Literacy Center.

The times we spent together with Beth and Ken at dinner group and neighborhood get togethers will always be pleasant memories. And, the “Elegant Ladies!” What a great sense of humor and wonderful laugh she had. My sincere condolences to Ken and all of her family.

Beth, Margaret and I went to Europe together way back in 1979. That was my first time meeting her even though she and Marg had been friends from before, but I was immediately accepted and included by her because of the special and caring person she was. I didn’t see her again until Alex’s wedding in 2017. The closeness was still there because of her kindness and loving personality. I will forever be enriched from knowing her. Please allow me to offer condolences to her family for their tremendous loss. Sincerely, Linda Fries
