Elizabeth Smith Obituary

After a nearly 12 year battle with Breast Cancer, Elizabeth (Beth) Ann Cazier Smith passed away on June 23, 2014 at her home south of Fountain, Colorado.

She was born August 18, 1963, in Bozeman, MT to LaGrand and Ann Cazier. Beth grew up in Three Forks, MT. She graduated from Three Forks High School and attended Ricks College (now BYU-I). She married Wendell K. Smith in Idaho Falls, Idaho October 26, 1985.

Always active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, she held many callings, including Sunday School Teacher, Primary Teacher, Primary Presidency member, Young Women's Advisor, Young Women's Camp Director, Young Women's Presidency member several times, and Relief Society Presidency member.

She had many skills and talents. Her embroidery, cross-stitch and crafting skills were extraordinary. She volunteered at the schools her children attended. She was always attending as many of her children's school, sports, scouts, and church events as she could.

During her illness, it was rare for anyone to hear a complaint or to know how sick she really was. She met everyone with a smile and a kind word. She was always upbeat. When receiving treatment, she could be counted on for a smile, a joke, or other uplifting action.

She was preceded in death by her father, LeGrand Cazier and her sister Connie Cazier Dalton. She is survived by her mother, Roberta Ann Cazier, her brothers LaGrand (Grandy) Cazier, Larry Cazier, Robert Cazier, Douglas Cazier; her husband Wendell Knighton Smith and their children: David Wendell Smith, Eric Walter Smith, Heather Ann Smith, and Hannah Marguerite Smith.

Funeral services will be held at the LDS Church, 325 Putnam Drive, Colorado Springs, CO, on Saturday, June 28th at 11:00 AM. A viewing will precede the funeral at 10 AM.

Flowers may be sent to Dove-Witt Mortuary in Fountain, Colorado or to the Smith home at 6759 Ocatillo View, Fountain, CO 80817.

Beth is an inspiration to us all - illness and pain didn't prevent her from fulfilling her calling as a mother, wife and church member; always a willing heart with a smile to go with that commitment. If we all followed Beth's example, this world would be a much better place!
