Beautiful, intelligent, interesting, adventurous, funny, good natured, a great friend, devout. Ellen McIntosh was born in 1931, in Boulder Creek, California. Her early life was difficult, and she struggled growing up. But she never gave things less than her best. After college, she earned two graduate degrees. She met her first husband in Mexico and they had 2 children. She traveled the world and taught for 35 years in five countries. Her students and their parents loved her. In Borneo she met her second husband, Robert McIntosh and they moved to Colorado, where she lived for 35 years. After Robert died, she fortunately met Bob LaHair and he was a great companion to her. She was active in her church, and The Elmohr Iris Society. She had many friends and is survived by her daughter Pamela and her son-in-law Peter Gurfein, her son Eric Hedin and his wife Tina, and her three grandchildren Diana, Eli, and Eva. Her granddaughter Kierstin Hedin predeceased her. She was at home in the world and the world was her home. Please consider a donation in Ellen's name to her preferred charity, foodallergy.org.
