Elouise Ridgeway Obituary

Elouise Ridgeway was born in Sumrall, Mississippi on January 27, 1933, to Morgan Adam Steele and Jessie Mae Tatum Steele. She was the eldest of 8 children.

Elouise was united in Holy Matrimony to Haywood Ridgeway, Jr. on September 14, 1953, their marriage would span and flourish over the decades, through thick and thin. Their union was blessed with 6 children: Debra, Howard (Keith), Perry, Gerry, Gregory and Regina.

Upon graduating from high school, Elouise went on to college to become a licensed practical nurse, a position she would hold for many years until her retirement from Evans Memorial Hospital, Fort Carson Colorado. While Haywood was in the U.S. Army, the family traveled to Germany and various locations throughout the United States. They ended up in Colorado Springs, Colorado where they settled down and raised their children in the town of Widefield.

Elouise and Haywood knew each other for their entire lives. They not only shared a great love, they were also the very best of friends. Elouise leaves behind her husband, Haywood Ridgeway, Jr., her daughters Debra Gray (Larnell), Regina Anderson (Paul), sons Howard (Keith) Ridgeway and Perry Ridgeway, her brother James Steele and sisters Doris Thomas and Allice Fleishour. Her grandchildren, Chartenae Puller, Samantha Clowers, Jarett Clowers, Stephan Ridgeway, Marcus Ridgeway, Katrina Ridgeway, Daniel Ridgeway, Renelle Ridgeway, Tiffany Ridgeway, Ciara Ridgeway, Brittainy Donnell, Courtney Donnell, and Amanda Donnell. Elouise leaves behind many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. She loved you all.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, her brothers Richard Steele and Benjamin Steele, her sisters Betty Sylve and Callie Ann Anderson and her sons Gerry Lee Ridgeway and Gregory Wayne Ridgeway.
