Emily Binion Obituary

It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to our beloved Emily Joanne Binion, who passed August 2, 2017. She was welcomed into this world on September 2, 1981, in Colorado Springs to Joanna Binion and Edward DeHerrera.

Emily was a mother, sister, daughter and granddaughter; but most importantly she was a fighter. Our Little Emily was born with a fierce passion for those she loved and always showed compassion to anyone beaten up by circumstance. She had a deep love for life regardless of what trials came her way. To the end, she remained steadfast that once the storm was over, the rainbow would come. This is the legacy left to those who loved her.

Emily loved strawberries dipped in sugar, online games including Tap Tap Fish, reading, reality television, making crafts for friends and family, playing with her cat Dante, volleyball, supporting her friends and family; but most of all the moments she treasured most were spent with her daughter, Calle.

Emily is survived by her daughter, Calleen, her mother, Joanna, her father and stepmother, Edward and Ruthie DeHerrera, sister Elizabeth Binion, brothers Cory (Ashley) Taylor and Jonathan (Brenna) Wiles, grandparents Roger and Barbara Binion, aunt and uncle Toni Binion and Bryan Ross, great-grandmother Emily Torres, a multitude of extended family who loved her very much.

Services will be held at Cappadona Funeral Home, 1020 E. Fillmore St., in Colorado Springs, Colorado, on Thursday, August 10, 2017 at 2 p.m.
