Emily Maria Torres, age 94, of Colorado Springs, Colorado passed away June 2, 2021 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
She was born May 30, 1927 to Max and Trisa Armijo Martinez in Trinidad Colorado. Emily went to elementary school at Trinidad Catholic School and high school at Trinidad High School.
She worked as an Inspector for The Antler's Hotel for twenty years. She was a member of the VFW. Emily enjoyed dancing and spending time with family.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Trisa Armijo; father, Max Martinez; loving husband, Sam Torres, Sr.; daughter, Vivian Figueroa; son, Johnnie Torres; brother, Al Martinez; sisters, Shorty Sandavol and Delpha Sanchez; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Emily is survived by her children, Judy Hendrix (Ed) of Colorado Springs, Sam Torres, Jr. of Colorado Springs, Rose Torres (Chuck) of Pueblo, Colorado and Victor Torres (Lisa) of Colorado Springs; nine grandchildren; twenty-nine great-grandchildren; and thirty-seven great-great-grandchildren.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the nurses and CNA's at Life Care Center.
Rosary, 10:00AM, Mass of Christian Burial immediately following, 11:00AM, Thursday, June 10, 2021, Corpus Christi Catholic Parish, 2318 North Cascade Avenue, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80907.
Interment, Evergreen Cemetery, 1005 Hancock Expressway, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80903.
