Emma Elizabeth "Dibby" Frohardt

Emma Frohardt Obituary

December 16, 1919 - February 15, 2009
Emma Elizabeth Frohardt departed this life to join family and beloved friends who have passed on before, on February 15, 2009. A resident of Colorado Springs for over 45 years, Dibby enjoyed the beauty of the Colorado mountains, her bridge and "Joker" playing friends, her lunch group, the fellowship of the Good Shepherd Methodist Church, and above all else, her family and friends. As a military wife, Dibby traveled the world with her husband and sons, never refusing an offer of an adventure and never refusing to offer her hand and heart in friendship to anyone. She recognized the goodness in everyone she met. She was a kind and gentle soul. She married her Omaha sweetheart, David, in 1943, who survives. Her sons, Mike (Ellen) and Mark (Katie) and her granddaughters, Robin, Emma and Willow, will remember, above all else, her beautiful smile, her love of flowers and hummingbirds and her open and giving heart. She was patient, kind and open hearted as well as open minded. She cared immensely for the environment and cherished the gifts of nature, the beauty of which could bring tears to her eyes. The world is a better place because she has been in it. A celebration of Dibby's life will be held at the Good Shepherd Methodist Church, 1201 Leta Drive, Security, on Thursday, February 19, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be given to the charity of your choice. There are many in need of our gifts in these times. Our deepest appreciation is extended to the staff at The Village at Skyline, and to Pikes Peak Hospice, who so carefully and lovingly cared for her.

I am sorry to learn of your bereavement. In the spirit of the Apostle Paul, we read: "For all things I have the strength by virtue of him who imparts power to me." Philippians 4:13

Ellen -
I am so sorry to learn of your mother-in-law's passing. As you once found strength and beauty in that which she offered, may you now find peace in her peace. My heart goes out to you, Mike and Robin.
