Colonel Erhard G. Weis, USAF (Ret.)
A highly decorated C-130 pilot and an Air Force Division Commander, passed away peacefully on September 25 at the age of 89.
Born in Richmond, Virginia, Bud, as he was known to everyone he met, devoted his life to service, honor and family. Throughout his distinguished Air Force career and after retirement in a second career as a realtor, he was known as the consummate Southern gentleman – gracious, kind and welcoming. He never met a stranger, carried himself with warmth and dignity and enriched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Geri; daughters, Stephanie Weis-Johnson & spouse Dave and Ashley Smith & spouse Alex; son, Craig Weis & spouse Heather, and his seven cherished grandchildren, Eva, Lily & Wyatt Smith, Lauren & Logan Weis and Grace & Jack Johnson as well as his sister, Joann Austin of Mechanicsville, VA. His love for family was evident in every aspect of his life and his memory will continue to inspire them.
A gathering to honor the life of "Being Bud" will be held at a future date.
