Eric Carlson Obituary

Eric passed away in his home in Colorado Springs, CO after fighting a long and courageous battle related to complications resulting from an auto accident in 1980 which left him a quadriplegic. Eric was born in Westfield, NY to Allen L. Carlson and Lois Rashbrook Carlson. Eric attended High School in Bemus Point, NY, Jamestown Community College, Jamestown, NY, and the University of Eastern Utah. Eric relocated to Colorado from Utah in 2002. Eric is survived by his parents of Colorado Springs, daughter Ashley of Iowa, son Andrew (Sarah) of AZ, and granddaughter Alena of AZ. He is also survived by two brothers, Allen Jr. (Denise) of AZ, Jeffery (Annette) of AZ, and one sister, Dr. Jody Carlson Gottesman of Colorado Springs, and several nieces and nephews. Eric was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Hugh and Irma Barrett, his paternal grandparents, Arvid and Ethel Carlson, and a son, Rick Swiderski who passed away in 1992. A memorial service will be held at The Center for Spiritual Living in Colorado Springs on June 29, 2009 at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Center for Spiritual Living at 3685 Jeannine Dr., Colorado Springs, CO 80917, Pikes Peak Hospice at 825 E. Pikes Peak Avenue (Suite 600) Colorado Springs, CO 80903, or to a charity of your choice.
