Alexis,
I went to Basic Training with your dad in 2008, and I remember him being one of the "older guys." With that he was like a big brother to many, and he was well liked. I can recall him talking about you and your brother, and his desire to complete training to get back home to his family. While I was deployed to Iraq in 2009 another soldier I knew from training informed me of your father's death. Since that day I find myself thinking of your dad. Especially, around Memorial Day. Stay the course, and live your life as your dad would have wanted. Thank you for the sacrifices you and your family have made.

I am not sure who will read this but I am 18 almost 19 now and I just wanted to relay the message that I appreciate all of the love that is shown in the comments of my father's obituary. It is amazing that even last year, my father's story is still touching hearts of people everywhere. I have grown into a fine young adult and I move forward continuing the great legacy of who my father was.

On October 23, 2021, I was at a "wear blue: run to remember...for the fallen, for the fighting, for the families" monthly event held in Lakeville, Minnesota. Before the run we form a circle and read the name provided to us of a military person (hero) who had died on that day while serving our country. Today I found his obituary and learned more about him. My heart goes out to Eric´s loved ones as I know he continues to be missed. He gave all for our country, and I wanted you to know that his sacrifice, and yours, has not been forgotten. Thank you.
Sincerely, Patricia

I’m British & I came across Eric’s story by accident. My father was lifelong Royal Navy, although he didn’t die in combat I lived in fear for his life. The worst happened to your man, your father but please remember there are people from all over the globe who send you love and strength for all time.

I did not know Eric but have been fortunate to know many brave soldiers who have served this great country. The loss of every soldier, sailor, airmen and Marine should always remind us that we are fortunate to live in a country where free men and women voluntarily serve and protect us each and every day. Without them the world wouldn't be a very good place. To the families of these brave people thank you for your service too. When they go off to war it is you who suffer. God Bless you all.

While doing this project for Memorial Day, I came across a soldier named Eric N. Lembke. He was assigned to me and I didn't just want to do poster just to get an A. I wanted to learn more about Lembke, and what I learned was that he was such an honorable and brave young man who died for our freedom along with Kimble Han and so many others. On this Memorial Day I would like to say thanks to those who have fallen for this nation's beliefs and to protect the people in it. Freedom is certainly not free, and Lembke was one of thousands of brave soldiers who paid the price.
Thank you and every soldier whose fallen to keep this nation and it's beliefs free

Hello,
We would like to express our deepest condolences and also let the Lembke Family know that we recently sent Care Packages to American troops in the war zones. Each box carried a dedication sheet that includes the name, service information and a photo of your loved one. We recognize that this is a humble tribute, but we wanted you to know that it is heartfelt and made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals in the youth hockey community and beyond. We will not forget. May God Bless you and keep you strong.

To the family of Spc. Eric Lembke,
My mother, Ruby Fraley, is buried just above Eric. I visited my mother's grave today...and Eric's. I put a flower on his grave. The cemetary was beautiful today. I wanted to find out more about this remarkable man and that is how I found this website. I believe there is a remarkable young man that just may be watching over my mother. They both left this world unexpectedly. I wish I could thank him personally for all he did and gave. I hope you can find some comfort from all he achieved while here, all he helped, and hold close a wonderful memory of a remarkable young man.

Prayer for Peace
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace;
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
And where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master,
Grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
To be understood, as to understand;
To be loved, as to love;
For it is in giving that we receive,
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
Amen

For you every single soldier
Those who served so honorable
Your life was forever altered
While I’m home safe and free
I stand with grateful admiration
I stand respectful and so proud
I know I’m only a civilian
And I don’t even know if it’s allowed
But I salute you; allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
Even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
My humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.
I salute you.
For those missing in action;
for those who didn’t make it home.
I know you’re in God’s presence you are not alone.
For every neatly folded flag;
for every shattered family
I will do the only thing I know to dignify your memory.
I salute you, allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
my humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.
I salute you .

Today my friends and I stood on the edge of the street at MacDill AFB (alongside a motorcade of officers) to pay tribute to SPC Lembke. As the hearse passed by (the sun was shining so very brightly as if heaven's gates had opened to welcome him home) and every soldier saluted. You could hear the sniffles and you could see the tears. I never met SPC Lembke, but being there and witnessing all the heartfelt emotion made me feel like I had. Without a doubt he was an honorable soldier and a wonderful man and he will be missed by all. May he rest in peace and may God be with his family and friends. SPC Lembke is watching over everyone now, and he is also watching out for his troops overseas.

We offer our heartfelt sympathy to the family and friends of Spc. Lembke and we honor his distinguished service to the cause of freedom and liberty. Sadly, America has lost one of its finest heroes, the U.S. has lost a friend and protector, and a family has lost an example of character and courage, which they will love and respect forever. Today, because of the sacrifice Spc. Lembke has made, the house of freedom is stronger, sturdier, and more secure.
To the family and friends, of Spc. Lembke, I would like you to know that a lot of people pray for you, and my hope is that their prayers will give you the strength necessary to carry on. Just as you were always with him when he was deployed overseas, know that he will always be with you wherever you may be. In the days to follow, may you be strengthened by the fact that Spc. Lembke was a man distinguished by exceptional courage and will always be admired for his brave deeds and noble qualities. You, your family and your sacrifice will never be forgotten.
"Our debt to the heroic men and valiant women in the service of our country can never be repaid, they have earned our undying gratitude. America will never, ever forget their sacrifices."
Spc. Lembke the flag of the United States of America has your blood sewn into the fabric; it shall forever wave in your honor.
Freedom requires sacrifice the protected will never know.

I went to high school with Eric and he sat behind me in Mr. (Coach) Robinson's class. I believe it was a geography class or something like that. I am, also, married to a soldier in Afghanistan right now who is also a combat engineer and stationed at Fort Carson, so Eric and his family and I were all in the same place at the same time. I even saw him in Walmart right there in Fountain, Colorado just before he deployed. He deployed the same time as my husband. (Unfortunately, soon to be ex husband.) But I do wish his family well and know that he died doing what he always wanted to do and doing what he loved to do. My thoughts remain with his wife and children.
