Cathy Glassburn Obituary

URBANA - Cathy A. Glassburn, 56, of Urbana, Ohio passed away on Thursday, December 22, 2016 in Kettering Hospital, Dayton, Ohio.

She was born June 9, 1960 in Urbana. Cathy was currently employed at Honeywell/Grimes for the past 18 years. She enjoyed helping and arranging benefits for the clubs she belong to, Urbana Moose, Mechanicsburg Eagles Post 3974, VFW Urbana and the Urbana American Legion Post 120. Cathy loved animals.

Cathy is survived by her husband, Jerry Allen Glassburn; her mom, Suzi Waldren and her 2nd mom Connie Staffan; her sister, Betty Jean (Al) Johnson; her brothers, Robert (Renee) Johnson and Drue (Mary) Staffan; her special friend and cousin, Steve and Robin Murphy, and special friend, Mike Brown, her uncles, Charles (Russ Scheappacassee) Colbert; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews , her beloved grandchildren , as well as a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Cleadis D. Staffan; her aunt and uncle, Howard and Florence Murphy and her cousin Pam Hodge.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, December 29, 2016 in the VERNON FUNERAL HOME, Urbana, Ohio. Moose services will be at 7 p.m. in the funeral home.

A celebration of life service will be held from 1-4 p.m. on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at the Urbana Moose.Memorial contributions may be made to Kettering Hospital for Renal Research, 3535 Southern Blvd., Kettering, Ohio 45429.
