ERNAFLOR CRUZ LANG

On September 10, 2018, Ernaflor Cruz Lang passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones and family at the age of 66 years.
Erna was born in Luzon, Philippines on the May 14, 1952, a daughter to Dionisio and Florentina (Cruz) Basconcillo.
She attended Catholic school in Manila, and at age 16 immigrated to Des Moines, Iowa and graduated from Tech High School in 1970. On August 2, 1975, Erna married Alan Lang at the Highland Park Presbyterian Church. They lived together in Des Moines and California before settling in Colorado in 1985.
Erna was very outgoing and loved to have conversations with everyone she met. She adored the outdoors and went on frequent camping and hiking trips with her husband and family. She was also an avid gardener and was especially proud of her award-winning irises.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Dionisio and Florentina Basconcillo; and by her husband, Alan.
Erna will be remembered lovingly by her sons, Dan (Danielle) of Reading, Massachusetts and Derek (Jenni) of Denver, Colorado; her grandchildren, Xander, Hannah, and Addie; sister, Thelma Terai of Phoenix, Arizona; brother, Romi Basconcillo of Des Moines, Iowa; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and extremely close friends.
Family, friends, and others whose lives Erna has touched are invited to attend the Memorial Service, 2:00PM, Saturday, October 6, 2018, The Springs Funeral Services, 3115 East Platte Avenue, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80909, to remember, grieve, and support each other.
Following that, Erna's cremated remains will be scattered along the Arkansas River, near Caon City.
Memorial contributions may be made in Erna's memory to the Colorado Iris Society or to the Elmohr Iris Society.
