Ernest was the greatest grandfather a kid could have. He was always there ready to listen, always had insight onwhatever the problem was that cut right to the heart of the matter, whatever it may be. He always had fun with us grandkids when he could. He took me skiing, whitewater rafting, and climbing among other fun trips to the Royal Gorge, Cave of the Winds, Santa's Workshop, and 10000 other spots and tourist traps between here and North Carolina, where I was born as I came out to Colorado to visit grandma and grandpa every summer. I'll never forget those good times, having fun playing family games, taking trips up the mountain and eating lunch out there somewhere, just hanging with my granddad eating grandma's dinner. It's those little simple things I'll miss the most. Rest in pesce, grandpa. We love you and miss you more everyday.

My sympathy for Mabel and the family. Ernie had such a sweet gentle soul. He was an awesome neighbor and so special to my family. My girls had the blessing of growing up knowing this kind man next door. We all have many good memories over the years. God bless his soul. My heart goes out to Mabel and all the family in their grief. Prayers that God and time will provide some comfort and peace.

Ernie and Mable were the best neighbors. Waving to Ernie each morning when I left for work is a memory I treasure. Blessings to the Browns.
