Estella Lopez Obituary

Estella Tijerina Lopez, age 74, a resident of Security since 1965, passed away with her family at her side, on July 6, 2006 at Memorial Hospital. She was a homemaker and a Foster parent. Estella was born on December 14, 1931 in Kingsville, TX to the late Victorio and Maria (Bazan) Tijerina. She was a dear lady who was loved by many. She enjoyed cooking and trips to Cripple Creek. Estella had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed telling jokes. She was active in her church and made a difference in many peoples' lives. Over the years, she cared for over 100 foster children and provided them with love and a good home. She is survived by her husband, Antonio; her children: Albert, Monica, Charlie (and wife Sue), Mary and Lucinda. She is also survived by a sisters: Isabel, Martha; son-in-law, Evaristo; and her grandchildren: Michael, Maria, Charlene, Brandon, Austin, Alexis, Cameron, Adam; and one great granddaughter, Vivian and son-in-law, Duane Barrows. She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Diana, and several brothers and sisters. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the Shrine of Remembrance "America the Beautiful" Chapel of Roses. Friends may call one hour prior to the services in the Chapel. A luncheon reception will follow at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Security. She will be dearly missed. Blessed be her memory.
